CARD KEY CONFIGURATION

Hello there.

I have a 2003 Mégane II 1.5 DCI 85 hp.

When I bought it to the stand, in September 2009 they only gave me one card key. Last week, I finally lost my embarassment and went there sayiong I wanted another card Key !! They said, "no problem", we will order one for your car from original Renault Shop, but he car has to go there so that the electricity Renault technician can programe it! And so it was...
Today I went to pick my car and my new card key that they had ordered , but when Renault Shop configured last and new Card Key, the previous one stoped working. I said how is that possible, and Renault Shop said it was normal, that I had to order ANOTHER card key. Of course the owner of the stand of selled me the car, said that this one he will not pay, as he only would pay the first new one! Now tomorrow I will go back to Renault Shop to argue this with them, cause it makes no sense at all (anyone could have lost one card key and wanted another one, and not obliged to buy 2 new card key, right? ), but if anyone could give some information about it, it would be great.

Just to be clear again: The old card key stoped working, and I remained, as the beggining, with only card key (the new one).

i had to get a 2nd keycard as the only one i recieved with the car had issues locking/unlocking the doors...both keys still start the car fine, so not sure why your first has stopped working.

Hello there,

I am not sure either. They said the first key had a microcomputer malfunction and I asked for a report of the error, but they did not had it. So the car stayed there again this morning to issue the error. I will try to make a participation to Renault shop and next, do the same to Renault France.
I think this is not clear enough. It's 180 € each card key!!
