New Bulbs

Postby candyroch » Wed Jun 09, 2010 7:39 pm

Hey guys cant afford to go for a revamp of front lights so will have to make do with new bulbs, currently have the 50% white bulbs in just now from halfords on the main beam but would like to consider somethin else to make my car look tht little sexier and more updated with the audis and beemers kicking around. Any ideas, would quite like the blue tinge lighting as I have an ottoman blue Meg.

The 'expensive blue tint' is only possible with HID's and a refractor lens.

What i would suggest is that you try the phillips +80%/90% bulbs.

They are expensive for a filliment bulb, but are ment to be as 'white' as possible with such a bulb.

Thanks ulrich.

Was in halfords there and picked up 2 ultra blue off road bulbs, but they are the ones for the full beam (damn me) so no use. Dont mind the lights when they are on at night but want a bulb like an led bulb in blue to stay on through the day, you know the bulb tht sits under the main beam?

This is the sort of item that you want

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-X-Xenon-HID-look-501-W5W-T10-sidelight-LED-bulb-Blue-/280512510330?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item414fd9397a

Although you are best to go for a white LED. A Blue LED is just to blue IMO and verges on tacky.

Also dont buy Halfords bulbs (take them back) Spend the money on proper phillips +80% bulbs you will not regreat the extra few quid. ( like night and day compaired to a lot of aftermarket bulbs)
