dipped headlight not working help quick

when my dipped headlight symbol come on the dash for some reason they do not turn on but the side lights do instead.
checked the fuses and all seem ok coudl there be any i have missed.?
also would 1 blown bulb stop them from working ?
need help asap as mot is tomorrow?

What you mean by sidelights? the lights on the doors that illuminates the car floor inside?

no in the actuali lighting housing where the dipped light bulb sticks out next to it is a small light bulb that is the light that lights up not the dipped ones?

Im sorry, im not understanding what are you saying...do you mean the small bulbs inside the front beams case? The presence lights? With those lights on you dont have any sign inside the car "saying" you that they're on but you can see your dashboard iluminated...is this what you want to know? If its not please explain in a way we can understand what are you saying...

Have you checked the fuses that are located under the bonnet? (beside battery)
