Hi guys, im new to the forum and just needed some help with fitting a new horn. Luckily I havnt bought one yet but I am looking to purchase a loud airhorn. Example: https://www.airhorns.co.uk/products.asp? ... 291&lot=21
So I took my front left grill off, unscrewed the bolt and realised that the horn only has a one pin connection, and I know for a fact that almost every aftermarket horn has the standard 2 pins. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a way around this!? Thanks in advance!

Re: Problem replacing my horn!
Most likely the original horn has a +ve connection from the switch/relay (the single pin) and the bolt is the -ve earth connection*. Your air horn probably has +ve and -ve pins on the compressor - ask the manufacturer. Connect the original wire to one pin and earth the other to the chassis. Best check it with a 12V supply or a multimeter first to be on the safe side. Also be in mind that you don't want to exceed the fuse rating for the horn which depends on the car model. Mine is rated only 15A (fuse F10) - your specified device draws 20A so it will blow it.

Re: Problem replacing my horn!
my horn had 2 cables going to the connector. just cut the connector off and make sure you know the positive and negative cables.
these are the usually marked on the connector itself

As above the chassie is the earth on a car...
An after market amp connects in the same way... Power from the battery through a cable. Earthed through any avaliable bolt (belt harness for example)
