2005 1.6 VVT - Stalling after ignition press

In short, sometimes the car will stall...

ie..

Open door through keyless entry
Foot on footbrake
Press start button
Car starts, revs to about 1,000rpm then begins to judder and die
Can press start again, and it will do the same, if you give it some throttle it clears and idles ok.
Will work fine afterwards.

No noises from the engine, no fault codes.
Does not just happen when cold, seems random.

Any tips.?

i have got the same problem to a tee have even cleaned the throttle body unit and still the same the engine is really quiet cold or warm not a rattle have even changed the cam sensor have read lots of things about this car and it seems this model has lots of faults not even renault can solve

What do people use to clean the throttle body.?

Carb cleaner, degreaser, water.?

Is it simply remove the airfilter hose, then remove the 4 bolts.

i bought some carb cleaner never made any difference was told it might be the tdc sensor as it will not show a fault as its at the start of the chain so thats my next thing to try

Dont know if this will help people but i brought a megane yesterday cheap £1500 for 54 plate 1.9dci as the warning light had come on for the previous owner so he wanted rid as renault had on the diagnostics and found no error codes etc...they told him he needed new injection system and pump posssibly cost £600 plus...so needless to say he wanted to sell...I got car from him took it home and on my drive it wouldnt start but no warnings coming up on display.......I manually primed it and noticed as i did this air flowing through plastic pipe to pump....it started fine....having a closer look where the pipe(crinkled) goes from pump back to hand primer at the pipe bracket the pipe had rubbed ever so slighlty enough for air to get into the line...it is strange because diesel did not leak out...however bit of superglue over hole...(while i wait for the part to arrive from renault £29) and it is now fine no problem at all....Result!! Hopefully May help someone
