They are ripping you off BIG Style..

We have seen many of these, and have NEVER replaced a Loom yet.. The loom electrical connectors are available individually and can be replaced.

And in any Case this should be Covered by Warranty as the vehicle is less than 3 years old.. (unless it is an Import, 2 Years).. or 60K miles..

The related Renault Solution number is 4863 so quote that to your dealer and see what they have to say for themselves.

I see you are from Johnstone.. So who was the supplying dealer? Arnold Clark by any chance??

The number I gave you is an internal Solution number that any Renault dealer has access to.. And as Arnold Clark is a main dealer they will have access to "Actis"..

Actis is Renaults internal computer system that can be searched by VIN for solutions and fixes that are known to RUK..

This water ingress one you are talking about is very well known..

Do not pay anything until you question them about this.. You also have the option of calling Renault Customer Services about this and get them to sort it out..

Id say no mate, you can take your car where you like if its still yours. Even if it doesn't run, you can get it recovered and taken to anotehr garage. Well thats what ive done before.

Right got an update for you's all .

Went to the garage this morning to find out what was happening ,was told that they will not pay for that car to be repaired and the warrenty company said the same .They said that water damage (of which you cannot see) will not be covered by anyone or corrosion.I got my card from them went to my car started it up wait a few minutes no warning light's on the car everything all normal ,drove home without any hassle.Sat the car outside my house with bonnet open took the fuse box cover off , and cannot see any water in there or in the fuses anywhere.

Now I have a few options left open to me they are as follows.

1. Pay for all parts to be replaced £3.500
2. Leave the car to "dry" out (still nothing to see) and hope for the best
3. Trade the car in and buy a new one.

Now this is all I can do ,well nearly can leave it to a lawyer to sort that out and hope eveything turns out ok. So this is what I have to do , now I dont want to pay £3.500 for the same problem to arrise later on in the cars life .

I was told by the Service manager that the code that webcode gave me doesnt exsist and he doesnt know what I am talking about .*Shakes head and wants to punch face of service mamager* gave him a total of 12 pages of peoples complaints about their dealership and renault as a whole ,he looked very puzzeled by what I gave him plus I asked for a report on what they found with the car and I got a A4 size piece of paper with a drawing of a car with the tyre makes and depth of my tyres marks on the car .ie paint chip on bonnet and a note saying called the owner and told him the cost of repair would be £3.500 and what needed done to the car, new upc cost £228:18,wiring £1.974.59 N.I.S od which I have no idea what that mean's all that will take 14 hours total is £3.410.75.

Now I would love infact I invite anyone to work that out and tell me why I no lights on my car and it's all working normally.Do I look like a fool that can be fleeced out of that kind of money ?
