Central Locking Cycle - Help please

Postby samuel1 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 4:48 pm

I have a 2002 megane, which at some stage has had a new door and wing. Unfortunately the locking/unlocking cycle is different between the new door and the other 3 (plus boot) Anyone help with how I get them sync'd so they all lock and unlock together.?

Tahnks

when I use the remote fob to lock and unlock the car. I have either :-

1 door locked (the replacement door) & 3 doors unlocked
or
1 door unlocked and 3 locked. The car is never actually fully secure.
This has been caused by a replacement door, not locking and unlocking at the same time as the old system.

I need a way to sync (all) doors to lock and unlock at the same time

i recently changed the drivers door and rear door, did the mechanic strip your existing wiring loom on your original door and swapped it on to the new door? when they were changing the doors for me, the wiring loom that was on the new door didn't work with my electric window or locking so he had to swap them around. hope this helps

Hello Sam, are you still with us or have you solved the problem?
I fully understand your predicament. It's a pity the person who fitted the new door did not check all was in order before releasing the car. Basically it should not be your problem. Can't you take it back under complaint?

If not you could try this;-
Lock the three "old" doors, thus leaving the new one unlocked.
Remove the wiring plug from the new door. The wires run in a loom from the door to the body. Release the catch and remove the plug from the socket where it meets the body. Have a look and all will become clear.
At this point unlock the 3 doors. All locks will now be at the same potential; ie each central locking motor will be in the same position, ready to lock. Now reconnect the door plug and press the lock button (no 2). With any luck, they will all work as normal. If this does not work, post another reply and I will advise you further.
Best of luck
Mike
