The Dynamat is about 5mm thick but its recommended to put more than one layer on, i've seen upto 5! Its expensive for what it is but its been tested against all other competitors and turns out its miles better at its job. Im sure the roof liner or whatever will make a difference but how much is unknown.

Another question for you mate, how did you fix the motor for the window to the door? I took the door card off, was fairly easy, I think lift more than pull!lol I've got evo stick flashing stuff but have come to a halt as I'm unsure how to stick the motor and also how did you stick the mdf? Cheers

Oh sorry not at all and i'd have to take the door cards off to measure and thats a pain in the ass. so no :P but If you look at my pictures im sure you can work it out. I'm currently looking for a way to modify my grills to accommodate my 16.5cm speakers as at the moment there are only perforations for a 13cm speaker so I believe alot of my sound is getting blocked by the plastic.

Tell you what, if you have managed to copy the german ones in fibreglass, foam or even wood, I can use them for a mold and reproduce them at cost price for the club in 100% pure carbon fibre......
or I can produce them for even less, in plastic.
let me know what you think

Re: 16.5cm speaker in front door panel.
LOL
it wont be a problem, i can literally coat it with a release agent, paint over a liquid plastic, let it set 2-3mm thick, and put a modelling cement over that to reinforce it, then i have a mold to make vacuum copies with carbon fibre, or just use liquid plastic to make them in plastic for £10 to £15 a set! carbon fibre would be considerably more, but thats solely due to material costs and vacuuming costs etc...
I can provided plastic ones in black gloss, black satin, or smooth primer for you to match your cars body colour. if you want me to spray it a particular colour, cover the cost of the paint and it wont be a problem!
now all i need is to get my hands on a set lol

Would styrafoam be strong enough? I'm just in the midle of some fairly large uni projects so haven't much time in my hands at the moment, but I'm sure I could make something!
Just a matter of getting round to it!lol

it would be plenty strong enough.
The liquid plastic sets solid in about 4 minutes, I have about 200 paint brushes to apply it with as they go solid and I have to throw them away and make up a new batch lol! Once its set, I can cut the syrafoam out, sand down the inside of the plastic (the face of the mold) so its nice and smooth, so everything produced in it has an easily obtainable high gloss smooth finish.

Re: 16.5cm speaker in front door panel.
well technically its not buying a set
Im making them for free! lol. its just cost of materials. hopefully someone can come up with a plug (an item to take a mold from)
here is how its done...... (This pic is in the basic stages prior to Carbon being polished and rough edges trimmmed)

Lmao,
I can make ANYTHING in ANY shape from carbon fibre, its just VERY time consuming. I can make carbon bonnets, carbon bootlids, carbon doors, carbon roof replacements, carbon bumpers, arches, wings etc... anything. but all you need is something to take a mold from, I work infornt of a radiator in my sapre room my "little" workshop, all tools wall mounted etc etc, its great to just get away and mess about with trialing and improving.
The stuff comes out lighter and stronger than any pre made carbon things I have come across, I think its due to the higher quality resins used
