Car Cleaning

Postby madwedge » Sun Aug 15, 2010 7:46 pm

Hello,

So has anyone had any experience with Zaino cleaning and polishing products?? I've heard good things but just wanted some advice/tips/techniques on how to use it correctly.

What products would be best for me and my Black Megane? The Z6 Gloss Enhancer and the Z5 polish for Dark cars?? And would I need Z7 to wash the car initially?

I've heard of layering techniqies with the polish and gloss too. Anyone know exactly what this is?

Thanks

I've not used Zaino but quite a few folk here have and do.

For black the washing technique is ultra important as it'll show swirls really easily. The 2 bucket method with a lambswool mitt is essential, dried with a drying towel then topped with a good sealant and some nice wax or possibly a glaze.

Layering is just what it sounds like, sometimes layering helps to give depth and shine as well as increase durability however, things must be allowed to cure properly before another coat is applied. With paintwork cleaners and some sealants every time a layer is put on it cleans what is underneath so there's no point in layering. Too many layers of wax can cause yellowing and be detrimental to the depth and shine of finish so often 2 layers of wax is enough.
