Day light running lights

Apparently by 2012 all new cars must have lights that come on during the day. What is going to happen to all second hand cars?

It shouldn't affect them. It's similar to when the laws on high level brake lights came in. There are still alot of older cars driving round without them perfectly legally.

Once you have them you'll be able to drive right up the a**e of the car in front.
Or is that just Audi drivers? ;)

No no if you have DRL it give you permission to do just that.

Do they come on with the headlights ulrich or are they always on?

They come on with the head lights so not true DRL's. But its only the way you wire them in.

If you want them on all the time just give them a constant 12V.
