HOW TO REMOVE AIR FiLTER/AIR FLOW BOX?

Postby Sadret89 » Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:52 pm

I want to put a Universal Air Filter on my 1.5 dci to get that extra bit of roar, however I'm really baffled on how to remove the air flow box. I've taken out the air filter and tried to yank it out but no use.

Anyone have a clue?

its not easy. You need to remove the battery, and the pipe that feeds the airbox from under the grill, along with the jubellee clip that connects the pipe from the turbo to the airbox. Its very fiddly. In my opinion its completely pointless, your much better off pulling a replacement panel filter in, instead.

Managed to do it took about 30 mins, well bloody fiddly. However I already had a K&N panel filter and I wanted to hear my turbo a bit more. ;)

an uprated pannel filter aint going to make any noise improvements in the engine bay, you'd need an induction kit for that roar, which wont actually improve bhp firgures on a meg dci, but will sound cool. I put a massive Pipercross induction kit, i think it was from an escort/sierra cosworth on my old 2.0focus, that sounded well.

Ive got the filter in but because on the dci's the air intake pipe comes from the back, the air filter doesnt have much space to breathe.

Does anyone know where I can get a tube to extended it? Preferbably one side 55mm the other 70mm
