Still no sign of the Meg III Convertible then?

Postby misty2k » Sat Apr 18, 2009 12:41 pm

When I was at my local Renault Dealer getting my baby serviced (Special Offer price of £99.99, thank you very much indeed!) I asked the dales guy about the new Megane III Convertible and though he didn't have an official date he thinks July '09.

Anyone have any better info?

One interesting thing though, he seemed to think it might be a rag-top. Apparently makers are going back to cloth as it's cheaper and no more noisey than a hard-top.

I'm not convinced myself. That might be true of higher-end manufacturers (BMW, Aston, Jag etc..) but I can't see it being a particularly good one on a higher volume, lower range manufacturer like Renault.

That said though, if it looks as good as the Laguna Convertible Concept does, I could be persuaded... https://news.caradisiac.com/Elucubration ... riolet-689.

It will have a steel/glass roof like the current one. The first pictures of a heavily disguised prototyp emerged about a week ago: https://www.planeterenault.com/forum/meg ... ml#p657205

It's thought to be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva show in March and deliveries possibly starting before the summer (otherwise Renault will miss out on the most important sales season for convertibles....)

So, apart from the heavily shadowed pic that Renault released and the heavily disguised spy shots are there any *REAL* photos of the Megane III CC out there yet?

Not that I can afford one, but maybe lusting after one will drive me to get a job!

You should have a job for self respect, not because you want a new car...
