Doing quite a few miles as i do on motorways i regularly pass cars on the hard shoulder with flat tyres(3 today). Now what i've noticed is most of the time the driver is stood on the grass bank i'm presuming waiting for a breakdown guy.
Is this because:
1- The wheelnuts are too tight due to a garage being the last to put them on.
2- Not wanting to get suit dirty.
3- No idea how to change a wheel.
So who can change a wheel and who can't?
Can you change a wheel?

Re: Can you change a wheel?
i can. i remember being in class with someone who was late. turned out he was waiting for RAC to change his tyre. i asked why he didn't just do it (he is capable) and he said it was raining and didn't fancy it.

Re: Can you change a wheel?
My old man had a blow out on the M1 years ago, i remember him telling me it took him 2 hours to do it as it was dark and because it was the off side rear wheel he had to keep jumping out of the way of trucks in the first lane
Madness.
I think i would leave it.

Do think of that when you see cars parked a bit close to lane one, if it was me with drivers side flat i'd have the car as much as possible on the verge. Usually plenty of verge and a filter drain a couple of feet wide to park on.

You wanna try getting to the hard shoulder on 3 wheels when you lose a drum/hub assy like i did in my van!!

I'd change a wheel, don't like that nasty jack you get though. It always seems to be leaning right over once you get it high enough to change. Ive binned mine and got a small trolley jack in a case in the boot.
