Dephaser Pulley

Postby kenny1001 » Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:48 pm

Just wondered if i book my car in for a cambelt change which is due by September, will the dephaser pulley be replaced as part of the cambelt change or is this a seperate job?

If you ask for a cambelt change you will get just that.
You will need to request any additional work specifically.
might be advisable to change water pump at same time ?

Looks like i need to request a cambet change, new dephaser pulley, new water pump and an engine management software update.
Any idea how much i am likely to be looking at for the above?

Ouch. have got it booked in to have the renault dealership take a look at it on Friday, so will keep you all updated with what they find, hopefully everything does not need changing.

the price for a dephaser polley is £ 136 but the labour is the night mare.

The labour for the dephaser includes the belts. It will be much cheaper if changed in the same time with the belts and possibly the pump. You don't need to use the dealer for this job, BTW. Bosch garages tend to be reasonable, just don't forget to supply them with all technical instructions and torque values (as in our Links) including the instruction to attach the engine mount back (!).

mine is having cam, pulleys, pump, sperom belt?, oil, filters, etc., and depahser (as it was rattling this morning so I'm getting it done at the same time) at the end of the month for £432 from independant renault specialist....just need to find a reputable garage to MOT it now
