Hi, I've just brought a 54 plate 1.4 Extreme Megane, and have noticed that I can't open or close the passenger electric window without the engine being on (i can open and close my drivers window with just the electics on)
Is this normal? Or is there a problem with it!?
Thanks for any info!
Lloyd

Re: Passenger Window Question
Its the same on mine mate. My driver's works with just the radio on, and closes when deadbolting the locks on the card. You can however 'trick' the car into thinking the engine is on by putting it in gear, press the brake and start. Assuming your brake sensor works, the car should try to start but then effectively stall, leaving all electrics on, and you can open/close the window.

Re: Passenger Window Question
if one side does it and the other dosent, then there is problem. none of mine work with the engine/electrics off but all do with just the electrics on

Re: Passenger Window Question
I wouldn't have said it's a problem. Seems the norm from all the megane's i've seen. Only Dynamique upwards i think has got the feature on the early car's, the newer ones all seem to have it.

Re: Passenger Window Question
I have an 04 plate expression saloon (lower spec than dynamiqueueueueue) but mine all work without the engine running.
I even found out that they all close by themselves when deadlocking, (quite frustrating in summer when you forget)
I'd get it checked out if i were you, (i.e. a sign of worse faults to come with the can bus multiplex electrics)

Re: Passenger Window Question
My dynamique runs them all with electrics as stated above, but a mates 07 clio will only allow drivers side to operate unless full ignition is on.
I think it's a "feature" of the car rather than a fault.
