I have had the exact same problems. My new Dephaser is being fitted as we type. My dealer quoted £684-46. incl. parts, labour and vat. I rang Renault Customer service explaining it was my 3rd Scenic and only had 28k on the clock. I also told them I knew it was a common problem with this engine thanks to this site and how I was disappointed that Renault hadn't bothered to carry out an "Outstanding Technical Solution" they have for this very problem. They asked me what I expected from them. I told them I didn't expect the job to be FOC as the car was 1yr 1mth past warranty but I DID expect a discount as they should have helped me earlier. I think you need to use a little savvy and not demand huge discounts. They rang back this morning and offered a 70% discount making the price £205.34p. Needless to say I snapped their hands off. Also I have ordered a full Ignition Coil set for £17.62 from the Parts Gateway website. The dealers on here are the very same that sell on e-bay. Hope this helps.

antipacker - I would start a new thread, or search for the window problem. Most people coming into this one will be looking at the engine issues with the 1.6 vvt. I know from reading posts here the window issue is fairly common so a quick search should give you the answer you need.
04 Plate 1.6 Dynamique

Issues to Date:
Dephaser - replaced
Cam Sensor - replaced
Start up problems, goes to two cylinders unless reved to hell - annoying, but untraced cause.
Water Leak in Boot - removed, came back, removed, came back again. Given up
