Side Panel

Postby Megane1.4i » Fri Jun 20, 2008 8:14 am

Hi

Im new to this forum but im in desperate need of some help. I have a 5dr Renault Megane 1.4i and recently scratched the side panel on the passenger side above the wheel arch. A couple of people i know have said the bumps on the arch can be popped out, and then sanded down, followed by a re-spray.

Has anyone ever suffered this, or do you have any tips on how to get this replaced at a simple cost? Anything less than £500 would be good. Also been advised to look around at breaker's yards as i may need a new panel completely. :cry

Thanks,
Chris

AVOID Renault at all costs. Look in yellow pages for body repair shops. should be a few local to you. I've just had similar done on wifes 307 and it was £150. The guy said price goes up if damage is near to another panel ie:door as they then have to blend the door as well to get a good match. wifes was above the wheel arch like yours so shouldn't be too bad.

Remember that the wings are plastic so may stand up less well to damage
