obstructive gear change

hi people

to add to my cars being difficult to drive when its not pulling properly it also has an intermittent obstructive gear change....3rd to second...2nd into 1st...1st into 2nd all being quite difficult and extremely notchy at times...and at other times its perfectly normal....but at the moment its def not the way it should be...could this be electronic?....or am i looking for a mechanical solution....its a 1.4 04 authentique...and its bloody unpleasant to drive at the moment.

sounds mechanical to me, 2nd to 1st can be difficult at times as 1st does not have synchro mesh (neither does reverse) but 2nd to 3rd should be smooth, dont know if it could be a clutch problem and if all other changes are fine i would opt for a gearbox snag or gearchange linkage. however with luck a mechanic on the forum will e able to point you in right direction

thanks for that..i await some mechanical input..im getting used to having a car that annoys me all the time...just hope i get to fix it all.
