Yeah it is normally under the wing mirrors. It looks like a little black rain drop.

I will have a go at looking it.

Presumably pop the cover off the mirror? Both?

Postby Mick » Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:57 pm

Hi there, my 04 meg has just started UNDEREADING outside temp by 10 degrees, how do you get the drivers wing mirror cover off without damage so that I can clean or replace the thermister ?

Outside air temp sensor-cover off

Postby spungal69 » Thu Oct 04, 2007 9:33 pm

In order to get the cover off you need to prise the coloured part off the right handside mirror. I used a steel ruler starting at the outside edge working it along about halfway, the fold the mirror inwards to finally remove the cover.

If you use a screwdriver you may damage the cover unless you cover the edges with masking tape this may help.

The temp probe is a sealed unit with two grey wires leading out of it, you cannot clean it with anything I think the method replacement would be buy cutting the wires and re-joining them with the new probe or a used one from a scrapyard far, far cheaper.

Hope this helps

My display (the one with the clock) stopped showing outside temp.
I Know Renault service mess this up, either when they cleaned my A/C or when they replaced right front door electric window mechanism.
Is there a way to fix this problem? Probably some wires are disconnected.

My name is Renault Megane Sedan 1.5dCi manufactured 2004 A.D.
