What do 'admin' think about this? As someone said previously, maybe there should be a separate forum category with a topic for each engine size? Just that it ain't an ownership problem as such but it does seem to be an interest of many members. Widely varying figures too.

I have the 2.0VVT Megane 5dr (as my sig suggests) and over the past 300 miles I was averaging 37mpg. I've done 3000 miles or so since buying it and 35 - 36mpg is the norm for me - I don't do much driving in built up areas.

I once managed a fairly ridiculous 58mpg on a run to York (OK, I cheated and reset the trip just as I crested a hill that ran down for a good 3 miles or so. Still, nice seeing 58mpg on the computer, regardless of situation).

I've a 1.9DCI (120) and i get around 40mpg and the best I've seen was when I did 3500miles in a week around Europe travelling at speed 2 weeks ago (https://www.modball.com), I managed to get 49.7mpg, not quite 50, but still happy with that, think I got about 620miles out of one tank :D

As i have mentioned on other threads i nearly always get a genuine 56.5 mpg (computor reading 53/54 mpg) on mixed driving of around 150 miles a day.

See sig. for engine details.

regards, martin.

p.s. see sticky showing details of how to work out your actual fuel economy,as oposed to the computor reading..

Had my meg 225 for a week, and getting 26MPG !! not to bad (actually happy with that) compared to my 1.4 previous meggie 53 plate which was only getting about 30MPG!!

The 225 is a dream as you never have to go over 2000 revs in town so thats prob why there is much a diffrence as with the 1.4 you always had to boot it to get anything out of it!!

But as soon as you do boot it.....................................need I say more

12km/l use in heavy traffic.

what would that be in mpg?

Greets from Mexico City

34mpg when 1imp gal = 4.5
28.5 when 1 US gal = 3.8

I guess...
