225 exhaust on a 1.4 16v

Postby norm130 » Wed Jun 13, 2007 9:41 am

I was wondering it is possible to fit a 225 exhaust on a 1.4 16v. Has anyone done this???

I can get the exhaust for very little, but before i buy it i would like to know if there much work involved and since i have the normal megane back bumper on, would the exhaust need shortened to make it fit??

Thanks in advance

I am almost positive m8 that you need to take your tyre well away in order to have the zost put in place...the 225 dont carry spare wheels just a can of tyrweld stuff, but if I am wrong someone will be along to either put you right or agree with me :P

Nah the 225 tyre well is big enough to stick an 18" wheel in. Renault were just too tight to put one in there

Someone here with a 1.6L put a 225 exhaust on theirs, look around the forum.

its a straight swap mate, just the back box tho, not the full system, Stevies done it to his, im getting one for my diesel! theres no problems with cutting the tyre well or owt.

so answer your after is Yeeaaassss, although it wont go on standard bumper unless your going to cut your bumper or alter the exhaust hangers so it sits under your standard bumper (not sure this is possible but its an option, you'd have to find out)

God i dont have ramble on sometimes

Hi mate ive done it to my 1.4 but i also have the 225 rear bumper
its a straight swap with some welding as the old back box needs cutting off as its all in one piece then weld the other in place
