Hi,
I'm seriously thinking about getting a new Megane CC 106 dCi (1.5l).
My main style of driving is average relaxed, non boy racer.
On an average week I spend around 5h motorway driving. The rest of the week is normal town driving.
Around twice a year I drive to france, posibily around 1,500m per trip.
Will the 106 dCi be fine for my uses. I understand there will be a little engine noise at higher revs. My current car is a 1.5 petrol Nissan Almera 5dr.
Thanks. Kav
Megane CC dCi 106 (1.5) ??

Hi,
I just changed my Nissan Almera for a Megane Hatch dCi 86, and I am well pleased with the performance, so you should have even more power with the dCi106, on saying this, I had NO problems at all with my Almera in 4 years I only had to replace tyres and Brake pads, just hope my "Meggie" gives the same service. (fingers crossed!) some of the reports on reliability of the Megane can be a little off putting, but I love mine, and Good luck with yours.

The 1.5dCi is a good engine, but the CC is 100Kg's heavier than the Megane Hatch, so you might find that it's a little underpowered.
The 1.9dCi would be a better choice for that paricular car IMHO. I've driven a couple (1.9's) and they do feel a lot heavier than the normal Megane hatch/saloon.
Also the CC does have it's fair share of problems with it's folding roof, although I think it's better than it used to be?

I test drove a 1.5 DCi and it felt reasonable around town, but maybe a bit out of its depth sometimes....i went for the 130DCi in my 06 SportsHatch and *touchwood* the engine is great....effortless cruising, higher 50s MPG and has that reserve power that i dont think you'l get with the 1.5
I went to Nice last month in mine and it was a great drive made all the better by the engine
