still thinking about the installation of a CDA on my Megane 2,0 L.

does anyone got any news about the model 70-150 for 2,0 liters cars?

It is true that it can not be fitted on megane 2,0l without dismantling the battery ?

should I try the 1,6 L model ?

KTec now have a green stuff kit for the 2.0. No battery removal needed.

I ordered an ITG replacement filter for my 1.6 from K-Tec, before I found this site. Has anyone tried this filter to see if there is any performance difference.

I also ordered iridium plugs to install instead of the OEM.

Do you think I'll have any improvement, or did I just waste some cash?

Hi
is there anyone who can help me ?
I'd like to install the CDA on my megane.
The job was on the way, i removed the original filter box, the battery but........I found that the original filter box is connected with the front air intake by means of a plastic rigid pipe.

Should I remove this pipe ? Should i connect the CDA air intake to the original air intake ? I suppose so !

But how can I do that ?

Please if someone already didi the job, can you explain me, maybe send photos etc

Thanks a lot !!!

Hi abemax,

I've just bought a BMC CDA induction kit for my meg as well and was wondering the same thing. I gues it would make sense to connect it to the existing ram pipe but the pipe with the kit isn't flexible enough.

Can anyone help us?!?!?

its better to get a seperate cold air intake directly from the outside rather than use the existing renault air pipe.

use as few bends as possible.

a friend went to Wickes and bought a huge metal (like aluminium foil) stretchy thing. i think they use em for air ducts for extraction fans... costs <£5, you get lots, and fairly resilient.
don't be conned into buying the "branded" induction kit stuff.. its exactly the same but in black!

its a bit like

Your BMC CDA should already come with a cold air feed thats long enough to reach the front bumper, mine did anyway. I connected the CDA to the feed and it went under the battery to near the front bumper.

Cheers i'll have a fiddle next weekend once Renault have fixed my low revs/stalling issue. I won't touch the engine whilst they're still doing warranty work after it's expired otherwise they'll throw it in my face.

Thanks ado but I need more details if you can.
Do you remove something more than the orginal filter box ?
Do you connect the air feed which comes with the CDA to the original air intake close to the front bumber ?

I think earlier in the thread they show it in a 2litre, they had to remove the battery and place it in the boot.
For everyone else, i think i'm going to install it this weekend in my 1.6. Would anyone like install pictures?

I would definately like to see pictures of the installation of the BMC-CDA filter. I am getting one soon, and I'd like to do it myself!

Cool, well i started it yesterday until i realised what a bugger it is to take out the OE airbox. I've downloaded some instructions with pictures from the K&N site for their injection kit to get me as far as removing the box. Although it appears i've done everything correct except for removing the rigid intake pipe. Gave up as soon as the rain hit and had to put it back together again. I'll get it done once this rain cloud clears which should be by next weekend as far as bbc weather are concerned. Once it's done i'll let you know.

thanks
in the meantime I've moved forward with my investigations....
I found the guy of the blue meggy whiich appears in the BMC site !!

He did not the instalaltions by himslef but he used a tuner factory here in Italy.
Now I'm waiting from some pictures of his installation since he's going to remove the CDA for cleaning.
Then I got the phone number of the people from the tuner factory who did the installation !!
I'll keep all of you update as soon as I get good news !!!!!!!!!!
