Posted earlier this year about air con problem on our 2006 1.5dci. Last year changed condenser and dryer plus re-gas and finally after several years had working air con. This spring no cold air again, mightily fed up . Worked out compressor not engaging unless external power supply connected to it. Not really wanting to spend anymore money on it have chopped the wires to the compressor, attached 2 new cables, live and neg and ran them with a fuse inline straight off the battery. So far this has worked and we have instant cold air. I have to remember to pull the fuse overnight or flat battery. Next step is to figure out how to wire a switch in to the cab.
It's a bit crude I'll admit but its cost nothing ( sourced cable from broken abs trailer cable) so happy so far.
Air con update

Re: Air con update
So do you now just leave the compressor running all the time you want cold air?
Doesn't that over pressurise the system?
