Postby Ryan1000 » Wed Feb 21, 2018 9:33 am

Hope someone can help with this as I'm lost, changed number plate bulb last night, bow I have no o/s front and rear side lights or number plate lights, removed battery and tray, checked all fuses with multimeter and all ok including the 7.5 amp fuse, anyone have an idea what it could be as I'm not very good with electrics, Megane 2, 2008. 1.4 , thanks in advance

What condition are teh number plate light bulb holders in, the holder and the pins corrode badly and my have broken and shorted out. I did a post on replacement bulb holders using 501 bulb holders and connecting the existing loom to the bulb holders with lucar connectors. Think its in hints and tips on this site

Think you have blown a fuse like I did.
BAD NEWS TIME.
It's in the fuse box under the bonnet on the 2nd level.
Took me 2 hours to change a fuse.

What do you mean Steve fuse box on the second level, the only fuse box I found was the one next to the battery, moved battery and tray, then unclip white multi plug and slide out fuse box which is inside a black plastic sleeve, pull out fuse box which is upside down, I've checked all fuses, there is only one 7.5 amp fuse which is ok, is there another fuse box, I know beneath that fuse box are big fuses, 30 amp ect now I'm confused ??

If I remember correctly there are more fuses on the underside of the big fuses.
Hope this helps

Had to edit my last post, rechecked plug to front and rear lights, have continuity but no power with lights on, it's showing 0.3 volts at the plugs am I right in thinking that if there's continuity that shows there's no broken wires, but no power is pointing to the fuse board in engine bay, I've stripped down twice and checked fuses and all seem ok, any ideas??

Well I found the culprit, 10amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box, 3rd time checking them today, firstly using multimeter and they all beeped, so thought they were all ok, then I set about removing them one by one to visually check, first 10 amp fuse I pulled was blown, how can it beep if it's blown??, Changed it, put everything back and it's all working now, thanks
