At what point did I say they were torqued to the correct ammount ? I had a problem which i found a fix for and i shared it..... isnt that the point of these forums ?

would it not have been more constructive to say " these are supposed to be tightened to 105nm, your best bet would be to .................."

and is a tight bolt (although not as tight as is reccomended) better than a loose bolt ?

Hi,
I know it is an enormous thread resurrection, but i just thought i would add my note on this.
I did exactly as the chap suggested and tightened up those bolts and voila, clicking gone.
Today i cleaned the egr, fixed the clicking and found that my rattle at idle, which i assumed was something sinister, was in fact just the exhaust heat shield touching the exhaust.
My car now feels glorious!

Nice one, congrats and thanks for searching out and using this thread rather than starting afresh :tu
