Issue with Garminat / Cabass Auditorium display

Hello, I'm from The Netherlands!

I just bought a 2004 Renault Mégane coupé cabriolet 2.0-16V Priv.L with a Garminat / Cabass Auditorium navigation and radio system.

The problem I have is that the display does not raise anymore from out of the dashboard.

The Renault dealer told my to replace the whole unit which will cost me around 1500 pound.....

The other option could be to raise the display and fix it to stay there of buy a second hand, but they are hard to find.

Without the display using the Garminat / Cabass Auditorium is (almost) impossible.

I'm wondering if anyone had this issue and maybe knows a better solution?

yes, of-course

It tries to lift hen switching on the radio/nav.

If it tries to lift when switching on I would try a little gentle persuasion then remove the fuse that does the folding and leave it up all the time
