Jammed Drivers Seat

Postby Bertisport » Thu Oct 16, 2014 7:49 am

Morning all.

My lovely megane ('53reg Megane ST, 1.9DCI,expression, manual) developed yet another problem :banghead

Has anyone else had problems with their driver jamming? it was fine until this morning when I got in and wanted to knock the seat back a notch, but it wouldn't go. I tried forwards - no joy.

There was no 'twang' like something snapping, or rattling like something has come undone.

Any ideas??

Why don't you take a flash light and look under the seat first?..

Sorry forgot to mention, I have looked under the seat but I can't see anything obvious. PLUS seeing How I didn't look under there before hand I don't know if anything is out of place.

I was kind of hoping someone else might have had the same problem and might be able to point out some thing that I've overlooked (literally)

I have the same problem with my passenger seat. I have been told that I need a new rail for it.

Anyone know how much these might cost??

At some point in time my seat became difficult to move. I found some debris and a couple of lost coins jamming the rail. After cleaning and spraying with WD40 it started moving freely again. In your case it is completely jammed, which is different from my case, as I understand. Someone reported ages ago a broken cable - it is a possibility...
