My CC tends to judder a fair bit when I pull off in first. Wondering if this is down to the coils perhaps?
Anyone else come across this on theirs?

Re: judder in first
after some deliberations, the garage has decided to change the clutch. They have also recommended changing the timing belt if it has not been one yet. Apparently this needs to be done every five years?

clutch changed along with timing belt and water pump. all good now!
Re: judder in first
What engine do you have in your Megane CC. Mine is a 1.6 and is a 2008 year. It judders as I pull away if I haven't given it enough revs. Seems to need a lot of revs to get this car going from stand still. I have no idea if the clutch is going or gone though as it doesn't seem to slip at all.
How much was a new clutch? And where did you get it done?
How much did the timing belt and water pump cost to replace? And where did you get it done?

Hi.
My CC is a 2006 1.6 with nearly 70k on the clock. The clutch was done under dealer warranty but the timing belt and water pump came to 220 Inc VAT. I had it done at a garage in Long Eaton, Derbys.

Re: judder in first
I own a 1.6 megane cc and know exactly what your talking about when it comes to clutch judder in 1st gear/pulling away. U do have to give it plenty of revs for sure and if your unlucky enough to get caught in a slow moving traffic jam (u no the sort that you find yourself riding the clutch every 2 seconds) you've had it! Judder onli gets worse, especially if your temper frays : /
How does the new clutch feel btw? Totally different? Do you have a good sized bite point?

Hi mate, I got your PM and have answered it.
Publically though, there's no judder at all now

Why would it be the coils?

How did you get the clutch done under warranty?

Re: judder in first
Car came with three months warranty from the dealer I bought it from.
Re: judder in first
This is very bizarre:-
The car wouldn't start, not even turn over, this was intermittent, however I called the AA. The AA man said better and alternator was fine. He said that p the car doesn't normally start because the contacts on the starter motor are sometimes loose or corroded.
I took the connections off, sanded them, added copper grease to keep a good connection and help prevent corrosion. The car now starts.
The ODD thing is now that the clutch judder has now totally stopped. How very strange. How can starter motor connections cause clutch judder. Stupid bloody car. It's on auto trader as we speak. Never buying another French car ever again in my life!
One electric window stopped working, an absolute fortune to fix by buying the part from Renault, so had to buy a window module off eBay, as a result it doesn't go down with the roof switch now so I bought another one for the other side to make the car look like its suppose to do that just to sell it.
