It would kill your battery, why do you want to do it?

You can install a bit of kit that let's you drive and open the roof at slow speeds. I know someone on here has also wired a live feed to the roof switch so it works without the ignition on.

May be worth a search if you really want to operate with no engine or ignition on but they were designed to work with engine running and it only takes a few seconds to open and close the roof.

Regards

21 seconds putting the roof down will not kill your battery !

There is a very simple way to open and close it at little cost via a sepperate fob or the boot key on the renault fob, but if you cant work out how to do it, best you stay away from trying to and i hav nt bothered to do it myself as the effort to do it it not worth the gain !

With mine I just depress the clutch, press the start button, wait a few seconds then you can operate the roof without the engine running.

21 seconds putting the roof down will not kill your battery !

Sweeping statement.
Renault advocate running engine, Wonder why they would say that.
All dependant on battery condition average battery life these days is 5 years before it starts losing charge and that depends on car usage lots of short runs, stop starting all takes more juice out than alternator can put back in.
21 seconds might be the length of time it takes to need recovery.

And as for opening/closing roof on the move ????? Why would you want to modify it to do something it wasn't designed to do. That's a hefty chunk of glass to move around on those stays and a nice plastic boot lid for the wind to damage. A very expensive repair for the sake of a whole 21 seconds wait in a very comfy seat.

I never understood that mod at all.
