megane ii 1.4 extreme aftermarket air filter

Postby cn33 » Mon Dec 16, 2013 11:00 am

Can anyone tell me how I change my old box filter to just a pipe and the filter? When I removed the box I was faced with a very weird shaped hole, I have been told there is an adaptor you can buy but does anyone know where from please?

So have you kept the old box on and ran a hose from that?

For all the work / expense of the above photo.

It will make no difference to a 1400.

Christ even the meagne 230 performs, on a rolling road, less well with an after market air box than the standard. 'less well'.. is that english?? :nut

Well documented on on meganesport.net.

Save your pennies lad would be my advice ( though doesn't directly answer you question!)

I wont be using such, for sure, I found it on RSMegane forum, and linked for the picture as he wants a extreme aftermarket filter

I would say, Use a k&n panel filter and that's it

K&N are cotton, oiled, washable.. all these characteristics are obsolete. The regular Purflux filter is high quality and is sufficient for much bigger engines the 1.4. Just change it regularly. RS use Mann filter. It is also cheap.

If you want better performance, focus on tyres, brakes and gearbox oil.
