Exhaust

Postby JackieD » Mon Mar 19, 2012 7:55 am

My Meggie CC is just over 7 years old now...and I've had her for about 4-5 years.
AFAIK the exhaust has never been replaced (certainly not in my ownership) and I wondered if this is quite normal.?
Does it have any stainless steel element to it.?
Be interested to hear of other owners experiences.?

As far as I know they are mild steel. My car is 7 years old and still running the original exhaust. I suppose if the engine was n't getting up to full temperature - lots of 2-4 mile journeys it would corrode due to the condensation that would form inside. I suppose long exhaust life makes up for the cost of the window regulators-NOT! :mad

John

Probably regret saying that when the exhaust starts blowing tomorrow!! ;)

Megane II exhausts are made of stainless steel.

It's not proper stainless, it's a cheap watered down version.
