02 megane boot problem

Hi all not sure if im in the right forum place for this but iv just brought a 2002 megane only to find the boot wont open i had a garage look at it and they did'nt no wants wrong so if anybody has an answer plz plz help me.... thx in advance

if you climb in the boot there is a little lever that you push sideways and it opens the boot. i would then remove tailgate trims and check for voltage at the catch.
these are common failures on the megane and will most likely just need replaced
