Oh yes this cherry again
Yes there is a way of stopping it
just like there is a way of disabling your airbag
Or any other safety function built into your car
But why????
Takes seconds to put the belt on
Could save your life and its the law

there's 2 ways of solving the beep. search the site and it'll come up. it'll be a 2007 post or earlier.

I find it unbelievable what i've just read. It'll take you longer and more effort to disable the beep than it will to put on your belt. Plus you said it yourself walk if it's only 200 yards, i suspect it's slightly further than that as the beep wouldn't bother you if it was that short a distance.

I've just showed your post to my colleague here in the office. He was intending to put on his seat-belt but hadn't got around to it. Some (uninsured) hoon crashed into him less than 300 yards after he'd set off. At 28 he's belted up now . . . . . . . to his wheelchair.

After the higher pitch beep has sounded for a while doesnt it knock its self off and just the warning light stay on?

But as above belt up!

Yeah it does, but by the time it goes off you can travel quite a distance, or have smashed your car up and killed or seriously injured yourself.

Do you know that without the seatbelt the airbag gains sensitivity, will operate at a lower speed and with a higher power? In this case don't use the hand-over-hand method of steering and double check if the head restraint is properly adjusted. Otherwise, ... you know.

This wont solve it, its a push to make switch, cut the wires and it sounds even when you plug in the belt.
