And you thought changing the headlights to HIDs was hard...

Postby Paddy » Sun Dec 21, 2008 6:10 pm

Well I did it today... I had bought chrome indicator bulbs for the front and rear to get rid of the 'fried egg' look.

The rear went with out a problem took about 2 mins to do each... then it was the time for the front... Could it be any more tricky? So I got my hand up through the arch... bent it round and found the release for the bulbs... Turned it 90 and it popped out.. Then the problem started... due to the design for the retainer and the space to the rear, it was all but impossible to wiggle it out... Did the RHS first... thought that was bad enough... then moved the LHS... I had to take the wheel off couldn’t manage to get my arm at the correct angle other wise. So all in all to do both front indicators took the guts of an hour and a half. Not to mention cuts received and blood loss. The designer of that deserves a peace of my mind! Well that’s the rant...

Now I’m sure someone will assure me that it can be done in five mins flat!
