Hi Folks, I've been away from the forums for a little while but realised I should stop by and take a peek.

Did that thread about the fastest speed you've actually driven get deleted?

not sure ive had 120 which is the book speed on these well review speed but it seemed to still be pulling just didn't fancy blowing it up so slowed down again obviously on a closed circuit never on the road!!

The old 1.5dCi Megane would do 100 all day long without issue, pushed it up to an indicated 115mph very late one night on a very empty section of the M58.

Not had the new Laguna past the 100mph mark yet, but my old 1.9dCi Laguna I had flat out on a private track, hit an indicated 137mph and it frightend the life out of me!

bloody hell i got scared it was going to blow at 120 as this is what i got told theyd do ill have to try again next time im on the er cough track

they slow up quite abit after 120. on a private airfield mine did 130 but i wouldnt want to go much faster than that in it. plu sthe speedo is well out at those speeds, 120 is more like 108!

120mph on the Autobahn with roof down. Its not as windy as I thought. A bit like having the sun roof open at speed.

wanda did ya have the windows down aswell i found it wasn't that bad in mrs.me's cabbi with the roof off at speed aswell

No the windows were up, with the windows down I think you will be blown out of the drivers seat

both my girlfriend and i, 1,4 petrol and my 1.5 dci were around 115 on the speedo and got somewhat blitzed by a Yellow Renault Meg sport doing considerably more on the M%, all power to his/her elbow i say, next purchase a big diesel sport?????

The fastest ive driven is 170 in a ferrari 355 late night on a private road
and much faster on a bike same appiles

Not as fast as some of you! - 130 in a Volvo V70 estate (company car, not mine). BTW Stevie - always loved the 355s especially the spider!! But a bit out of my league I'm afraid. See below - sigh........

proven fact if you bimble in your car everyday you are more likly to have problems,if every now and again you thrash it within an inch of its life,you actually agitate all of the oil in the sump and get all the bearings etc etc moving freely,
so basically if you want to bimble around then please do, but please dont moan at the rest of us that occassionally go for a little bit of a blitz,and just to add a little bit 187 mph going down to Le Mans in a TVR speed 12,we then parked up for 20mins before going through the next toll and getting a speeding fine >> WHAT A RUSH !!!!

Which is faster?

130mph in my old Paxo VTS on a *cough* private Dual Carriage-way. I wasn't chuffed as a Ford Galaxy V6 blasted past as if i was stood still
