New road tax next month
How does it affect us as owners of cars? Especially some of us diesel heads?
Re: New road tax next month
It only effects new cars registered after the end of march.
The only cars that carry £0 road tax are 100% electric.
That's why I bought my mk4 now, Earlier than I wanted too but saving £140 a year.

So actully a more poluting diesel is actually now more cheaper to run, in the name of saving the environment. I am confused.

Not just that Wanda but say a 5 litre V8 Mercedes AMG whatever will be £140 per year apart from the first year where it's £2000.
I expect there to be charges akin to congestion charge, levied on diesel vehicles in cities and other places where councils feel it's worth them doing.
Typical of governments who can't look beyond the end of their nose, drop RFL rates to 0, £20 and £30 and then, when they aren't getting enough income from RFL they change the system.

Agreed, just as the TV licence fee is spent on unbiased reporting.
