Rear windscreen wiper marks

My Megane 2 is now 7 years old and has given me relatively few problems since new. BUT an annoying problem has started on the rear windsceen, the wiper appears to have marked the glass as if it was scratched, but it appears to be a rubber mark which I can't move. I've tried a gentle abrasive cream but I'm wary of damaging the heating element in the glass. Any advice would be appreciated

Try some neat All Purpose Cleaner on it with a soft cloth then you can rub as hard as you like. You can get dedicated car versions but for a one off your normal household stuff will do, just be sure not to let any get on to the bodywork.

Never use anthing abrasive on your bodywork or glass as it will leave marks.

Has it scratched the glass, this has happened to mine, the build up of grit etc when driving on the rear window is swept across when clearing the window, this can sometimes scratch it.. The only way to solve this is to remove the scratches, similar to polishing scratched in bodywork but you'll need a more abrasive polish to cut into the glass... I've heard of people using jewlers rouge but haven't got round to doin it myself.. I'd try searching the Internet for a good glass polish for removing scratched from glass..

The heating elements for the window are on the inside so you can't damage them from the outside, unless you wear all the way thru the window, which quite frankly isn't going to happen!

You can buy a kit like this which might help..https://www.frost.co.uk/automotive-winds ... r-kit.html
