Howdy,

I'm off to get my Megane 130's DPF Filter removed along with a remap by Angel Tuning on Thursday. £550 all in which I thought was reasonable from a reputable company.

I will let you know the results for anyone looking at doing this. Ill try and get it on a rolling road as well to see what effect it has had :-)

I'm really interested in this as I to have a 130bph Megane with the DPF removed and ECU remapped but I've never taken it on a rolling road. Let me know how it goes on Thursday. Ill await eagerly for the results. How are you getting the DPF removed, a delete pipe or hollowing it out? Good luck

Yeah ive noticed that you have had it done, seem to be one of the only people on here who has!

From what they have said they are going to hollow it out, cant seem to find a delete pipe thats made for the 130 so im happy with that.

Its been put back to next Tuesday now so we will have to wait a little longer for the results. Im a tad worried about the possibility of loads of smoke though :?

O, and thank you for your thread about cleaning the EGR valve, came in very handy!

I've spent loads of money trying to figure out what's causing the smoke. Taken it to 4 garages and a software tuning place and non of them think there is a problem with the car. So there's nothing to worry about. I was DEVASTATED when I saw all the smoke out the back of my car but have got use to it now, in fact ill probably kinda miss it when i get rid of the Meg lol

Are you getting it done for the extra hp or just to stop the error message? I reckon you only get about 5hp from a dpf removal so if your doing it for that probably not worth the smoke. Its nice not to have to worry about the "regenerate soot filter" message. The extra hp is just a + :D

Blimey hopefully I wont have that problem!

Im getting it done mainly because I very rarely drive on motorways so regenerating the soot filter doesnt happen very often! Im not expecting much from gain in HP from the removal, however they are doing a performance remap at the same time which hopefully should have some effect. :D

Did you notice a big improvement after the remap?

No not really. I think I had an unrealistic expectation to be fair. I was expecting it to drive like it had a second turbo or a super charger strapped on to it lol Its deficiently alot quicker then the 130 brake it was as standard. Little while back I got in a race with a mini cooper S and my car was all over it. Think they are 160 standard and alot lighter than the Meganes.
