Hi all
Might sound like a silly question but I just can't seem to find out!
All the info seems to be regarding diesel versions.

Aye - the 1.4 is probably the least problematic engine... no EGR and no dephaser!

Thanks very much guys.
My car is doing funny things & from what I've read is exactly the same symptoms as when the egr valve needs cleaning- Very hesitant engine, like, restrictive on low throttle, it's like you can't cruise- either foot down or let off completely to cure it or it starts to kangaroo! Also, sometimes when you start it, it idles well below what it should do- approx 450 rpm when it should be about 750/800.
I've had code read at garage & it indicated middle two coils & these have been replaced with Renault ones (outer two are the updated Renault ones) It seemed OK for a couple of days but it just went back to the problems after that.
Any ideas anyone??
Regards

My mum had the kangaroo issue on a Renault van. Went into Renault and they charged over £500 without being able to resolve the issue. Took into a local garage and after a test drive they throught it was the fuel filter (or filter hosuing), so temperarily routed the fuel around this and through a temp fuel filter to see if this was the problem, and it was! I think this cost just over £100 to sort out in the end, not sure if it was the housing or the filter itself.
