MOT question

Postby rjacko » Mon Jul 18, 2011 2:26 pm

A real dumb one this.

Would a car pass an MOT with out its rear seats fitted (both upper and lower) So there would only seat belt fixtures on the rear floor and the side belts, no middle belt.

Guessing it would fail. Only ask as still have to fit rear of car out and it's booked in for MOT tomorrow afternoon, struggling with time as on night shift

Cheers

Looks like you need all 5 belts present for MOT.

no, you can do it. they can't test it if its not used.
my boss does this with his scenic since his dog ate the seatbelt.

Ta for the info, had this backed up last night by a friend of a friend who's an MOT tester. Told me to leave seat in but remove the middle seat belt. Reason being they can only test and fail what is fitted to the car.

Going to drag my self out of bed and refit seat before MOT, minus seat belt of course
