random lead by the clutch

Hi everyone, I have a random lead that has snapped by the clutch...anyone know what it is.

I have a Megane 2003 1.9 diesel.

the snapped lead has not affected my car but was wondering if anyone knew what the heck it was?!?!

If you can't start the car with just the clutch pedal pressed, it will be for the clutch switch (so it knows the starter won't cause the car to lurch forward).
