i recently bought an 2007 megane from a dealer and am pretty pleased with my purchase.
today i have received the v5 for the car which states 2 former keepers, when buying the car i asked on more than 1 occasion and was told the vehicle had 1former keeper,
the car dealer also gave me an hpi check on the car on the day of purchase showing 1 former keeper

what should i do as i now believe i have been misled over the sale of the car and one of its unique selling points
do members of this forum believe i should seek compensation or kick myself for not checking the v5 myself before i purchased

depends could have been bought pre registered thats where the garage sells the car to itself to keep the figures up then sells the car at a discount
or the garage may have bought it part ex an notified dvla that they owned it technically 2nd owner
The v5 should tell you who the last owner was and when they bought it
From that you should be able to tell how long they had it and how long the first owner did
If infact both had it for a reasonable time then yes you were mis sold

The first change of ownership at 10 months could indicate that the car was first registered to the garage as a either a demonstrator or a courtesy car. These plans are usually 3 or 6 months but when this period is up and the garage puts new cars on demo plans the 6 month old ones go on the forecourt for sale, which can itself take a few months.
Cars which are sales demos are usually well cared for as they are a sales tool, courtesy cars may have several less than careful drivers every day (like hire cars do) and wear and tear is greater.
May be worth asking the garage where you bought it from.
