The Mégane II Owners' Club

My auto lights come on even when the light levels are quite high, in other words unless the car is in bright sunshine. also once they are on they do not extingush even in bright sunshine. For the moment i have switched them off altogether. any ideas on how i rectify this? I have made sure that the windscreen in front of the sensor is clean.

Check that the sensor is firmly adhered to the windscreen and that there's no damage to it, I've heard that either of these can cause issues.

Spot on answer, The sensor behind the interior mirror had come unclipped from the main housing, although without actually pushing on it i would not have realised it was not as it should be, it just clicked back into place and now my auto lights work fine. Thank you. Iain
