Who is from Scotland?
Was thinking of going on holiday for the first time in the summer. Can anyone recommend places to stay up in the highlands?

i live north of Glasgow
the best place for you to head for is Oban on the west coast
Oban is a great base if you fancy taking a ferry to any islands
We stay at a place called Tralee you'll find on the web it's just outside Oban
what ever you do i hope you enjoy your trip north
all the best

Firstly we're in to walking, nature watching and such like and have no kids with that in mind I've always found Skye superb and have holidayed there a lot more so in my younger years than recently.
Oban, as mentioned is a superb base for many things.
A couple of years ago we stayed in Pitlochry for a few nights - nice enough but nothing spectacular.
On the East side Edinburgh is superb with plenty to do and plenty on the preriphery.
