Well as a result of my friendly and reliable local Renault dealer closing last year I have decided that the time has come to purchase a CLIP. And it's arrived so of I go to see what can be done. All I need now is Tyre Pressure Sensors ;-)

Did you ever have any problems with the tyre pressure sensors on your '03 Meg?

I'm hoping to fit the Carminat Sat Nav to mine next. Maybe you can help me with a little niggling question. Do the voice instructions come through the radio speakers, or is there a separate speaker for it? The reason I ask is that my Vel Satis has a separate speaker below the steering wheel for the voice.

From memory the only problems were when the temperature dropped, but I have had them on 2 Lagunas and the espace as well. One laguna had the ones like the megane (display just shows ok or not etc) and this one had a problem with one wheel. Ended up having a new tyre and that fixed it, apparently the tyre wasn't sealing properly on the rim. The other laguna and the espace are the type that show exactly what pressure is in each tyre and these also drop a lot in the cold.

I will check on the sat nav but I think it comes from the speakers.

Excellent, thanks.

I've had no warnings from mine yet, just the ones I created to test it :-)

I tried the sat nav yesterday and yes the sound from it does come through the steareo speakers not a separate speaker like the vel satis, laguna, espace etc

Have you got any of it yet?

Nope. I nearly bought the computer and the screen last year when I first considered it, but hit a brick wall when I pulled my CD player out to find there was no wiring for the extra connection on the back of the Carminat. I'm now thinking that this may just be a feed for the new screen, in which case it should be easy enough. More investigation required...

Which one are you after the uk B&W or the french colour one?

Just the UK version. I think the colour screen looks like a bit of a tacky accessory. Ideally I'd love to find a sat nav equipped model in a breakers yard, examine it and just literally take the whole system - wiring and everything. Very little chance of that happening though!

No they are as rare as rocking horse poo and at £1000 I am not surpised!! When I ordered my 03 plate that was one of the 3 options that I didn't bother with just because of price. I was shocked when I bought my cc and it had both sat nav and xenons both factory originals.

We may be able to come to a deal on the sat nav though coz I've got it into my head that I want a double din unit, it's just I'm no sure about the centre display as they are different i believe than non sat nav ones and I'm not sure I can be bothered changing that.
