We are off to Brazil for a holiday for a month, do you guys think the battery will go flat if we leave the car parked for that long?

Unless its a brand new battery in top condition and fully charged stored in a warm place, it may struggle to start. Letting it go flat and then jump starting is not a good idea - it will shorten the lifespan of the battery due to plate sulphation. If you are leaving the car at home - for example garaged, remove the battery and ask a relative/friend/neighbour to trickle charge it for a couple of hours once a week. A charger is peanuts compared to a new battery, and handy to have around. Obviously, you can't do this if you are parking at the airport...
Have a good holiday!

Four weeks is pushing things though I would have thought... In the unlikely event of me ever going to Brazil for a month, the last thing I would want to be concerned about is whether the car would start after an 18 hour flight. Each to their own I suppose.

if you're using airport parking, i know BAA car parks offered assistance if you couldn't start your car in the car park
