AA Breakdown Cover

Postby Isaac Hunt » Fri Nov 05, 2010 12:47 pm

Just had a letter offering this for 5.99 a month.

All the problems my Megane has had and the worry that one day the dephaser will knacker up would such faults be covered on this breakdown cover or am i wasting my time paying for the cover?

Cheers

breakdown cover won't cover it. you'll need warranty cover.

Any idea which warranty cover i'll need? I've heard stories where you pay for cover and then when it breaks down they try and wriggle out of it and say you aren't covered.

Any help will be great. I want to make sure i get the correct cover.

Thankyou

you'll need to check each policy. i had AA gold cover and it covered the turbo which was my worry. not sure what dephaser would be listed as

save your money in a bank, if it goes, your covered, if it dosent, quids in. the cost to have a dephaser done is around the £500 mark (if done correctly, i.e. new belt, etc...)

now how much does a warranty cover cost? if it goes, quids in, if it dosent, you've just lost a lot of money.

some people will say otherwise, but i think it's fear tactics, same along the line as mobile phone insurance, all this insurance crap that they offer when you buy an electrical appliance, and so on...

That's good advice that.

After reading various warranty sites and speaking to garages then i'm concerned i'll pay for warranty and it wont be of use.

Going to set up a car/account like you've suggested.
