I would not be suprised if that was written off - could be a chance to buy it for cheap and repair but it would always be a CAT D then I guess. Such rotten luck. The only think your car is/was missing is some larger BMW wheels. I think I'd lean more towards the 5 series myself. I would love to restore a late 80s/early 90s BMW 3 or 5.
