Megane cc 1.5dci

and

Clio Initiale 1.5dci

Its what I'm doing - Your parents - pushchairs don't fit in CCs :). Infact feck all fits in a CC and the boot of the clio... nuff said. Perhaps one of those Sportback A3s/S3s. They are like mini estates or the clio estate?

I do like the Scenic but the only thing I dont like is the dash board being centred.... bit silly but its just me.

The Audi is nice but the amount of money the want for extras is quite a bit....

Do you find them much different? The tyres on TI models are expensive though. Otherwise, it is a very robust and well designed car, a unique platform, very rigid body, everything is accessible in the engine bay, etc. To understand one needs to experience it.

I'd wait for a Megane III estate facelift with 1.6 dCi 130HP if I were you. The engine is brilliant with loads of torque, revs freely to 5200 rpm, consumption however is a joke, and it will be much cheaper than Laguna estate with the same engine. And Megane III will probably get better equipment after facelift. My personal opinion is that 1.5 dCi is a bit underpowered for an estate. I tried it in Laguna, and you're not really going anywhere unless you keep it at 2500+ rpm.

Are you happy with the performance of your 1.5dCi 106 CC as it's a pretty heavy car.

Don't quote me but I think the new Megane is considerably lighter than the old model? Without looking at specs I would think the Megane III 1.5dCi estate will be lighter than your current car?

You could alway opt for a 1.9 or 2.0dCi and then you would have a little more Oommph to play with :D

Megane estate can actually carry 5 adult people + some luggage. :) With 1.5 dci 106 HP it struggles from the traffic lights. Megane CC never carries more than 2 adults (unless you want to torture someone), the reason probably being that it's too heavy itself with that heavy roof mechanism and reinforcements inside the chasis. :D

I am not so sure about that, Picked up my mom and two sisters plus their luggage from Heathrow to Tonbridge. I set the cruise control to 70mph and left it in gear 6. The car did not lose speed on up hills.....

According to parkers website your current CC's weight is 1395kg.

A 1.5dCi 110 FAP Megane III Sports Tourer is only 1285kg. Big difference there! :D

On paper the performance of the Megane III is pretty much identical to yours and road tax will be £30 as it emits only 114gkm of CO2.

Food for thought?
